Create or Acquire menu options are gray grayed out - unable to launch Slide Builder or other tools to import media

Symptom:
When selecting the Create or Acquire From... menu in the Media Files panel, all of the options are grayed out.
Possible Cause:
A target folder must be selected for the menu to be accessible. By default, the last accessed folder should be selected automatically but in some cases this does not happen.
Possible Solution:
Ensure that a valid target folder is selected from the folder list then access the Create or Acquire From... menu again.
Select the desired destination folder in the Media Files panel - this will show all options when "create" is selected.
- Launch SongShow Plus.
- From the Media Files panel select the desired media tab.
- In the selected media tab, click on the Search By Folder option in the toolbar.
- In the SongShow Folders panel, browse the available folders.
- Select a destination folder for the content to be saved.
Possible Cause:
If you are not able to select a target folder, it is possible that the entire "Search By" panel has been hidden. By default, the Search By pane should be visible but it is possible that it was inadvertently resized very small or hidden.
Possible Solution:
Ensure that a valid target folder is selected from the folder list then access the Create or Acquire From... menu again.
- Check the Search By pane to make sure contents are visible. Move the mouse to the borders of the pane to see if it can be resized and do so if possible.
- As a last resort the Presenter layout can be reset to ensure all panes are visible:
- From the SSP main toolbar select Layout > Default Panel Arrangement.
- This will reset the panels.
- Locate the media file folder for import.
- Rearrange panels as needed.
