Templates or slides are slow to render or populate.

Applicable SongShow Plus Versions: 
This article applies to all versions of SongShow Plus using SongShow Slide Builder.

Symptom:
When viewing templates or slides in the slide builder they are slow to populate, render or display.  These may also display slowly in SongShow Plus from a program.

Possible Cause:
If templates or other slides contain embedded images, this will slow down the display process.  This can change depending on several factors such as image file type or size.

Possible Solution:  
When adding media content, images in this case, they should be referenced rather than embedded whenever possible to avoid this bad behavior.

Possible Cause:
This behavior can occur in slideshows that have a large number of Slide Show Themes included.  SSP has to process all themes to determine if and how they are applied if they exist.  The slow response is due to additional overhead in the processing of the theme settings.  

Possible Solution:
Limit the use of duplicate and unassigned Slide Show Themes in the slideshows.  This will both reduce the size of the slideshow files and improve the editing experience by eliminating unnecessary duplication of themes.  Refer to this article for more details.
