Printing in SongShow Plus - Print Song or Slide Show or Image

A feature included in SongShow Plus is the ability to print various content from SongShow Plus to be used along with or instead of live projection.

By default, printing in SongShow Plus is going to use the default Windows settings for printing.  If you are printing directly to a connected printer, ensure it is connected and detected correctly in Windows before opening SongShow Plus.  It is also important to ensure the printer setup actually works, especially if it is a new connection.  A test print from Windows (outside of SSP) is advised to ensure that part is working as expected. Be aware that SSP relies on Windows to make available any device (in this case a connected printer) for use.  Sometimes this is not always the case.

NOTE: The instructions below are for printing items from the respective Media Files panels.  It is also possible to print items from a Program or Slide Builder with very similar steps.

 Printing a Song

1. Open SongShow Plus.
2. From the Media Files panel select Songs.
3. Locate and select a song to be printed.
4. Right-Click the song file and select Print Song Lyrics... from the menu.
5. Once the dialog opens, click the Printer Setup... button in the lower left corner.
6. Ensure that your verified Windows printer is found and selected in this dialog. If not, STOP and resolve the Windows printer configuration (This is outside SSP software help - consult your local IT team.)
7. Once the connected printer is selected, click OK to return to the print dialog.
8. Select all the song parts and print configuration options as needed.
9. Once the Preview is as desired, click the Print button.

  Printing a Slide Show

1. Open SongShow Plus.
2. From the Media Files panel select Slide Shows.
3. Locate and select a slide show to be printed.
4. Right-Click the slide show file and select Print Slide Show... from the menu.
5. Once the dialog opens, locate the Printer: drop menu in the lower left area.
6. Ensure that your verified Windows printer is found and selected in this dialog. If not, STOP and resolve the Windows printer configuration (This is outside SSP software help - consult your local IT team.)
7. Once the connected printer is selected, continue with the remaining print configuration.
8. Select all the print configuration options as needed.
9. Once the Preview is as desired, click the Print button.

 Printing a Image

1. NOTE: Images are not actually printed from within SSP - a Windows image application is used to print.
2. Open SongShow Plus.
3. From the Media Files panel select Images.
4. Locate and select an Image to be printed.
5. Right-Click the Image file and select Print Image... from the menu.
6. At this point the either the image will open in the previously designated Windows image application OR the user will be prompted to select one. Select the application of your choice as needed.
7. Once the image is open in the designated Windows image application, proceed normally to print it.

Troubleshooting Printing in SongShow Plus

1. Sometimes SongShow Plus cannot find or connect correctly to a selected printer due to a Windows issue. The alternative is to select a local drive destination to create a PDF or XPS document that can then be printed outside of SongShow Plus.  This is also a great option to "e-print" content electronically to be delivered via email or other means.
2. Follow the instructions for the file type you are trying to print.
3. At the printer selection option select either Microsoft Print to PDF  OR Microsoft XPS Document Writer - either option will create an electronic document and give an option to select where to save it.
4. Once the file is saved it can then be printed directly OR delivered another way (i.e. email/USB drive/Network)
5. NOTE: If this works but the direct print in SSP does not, the issue is in Windows and not SSP.
