How can I change the bible scripture translations in my program?

This article applies to all versions of SongShow Plus.
One of the features of SongShow Plus is the ability to add scripture text to programs within SongShow Plus. There are a few free bible scripture translations included and available after the initial installation of SongShow Plus. Additional bible scripture translations can be added by purchasing a license add-on for a specific machine and updating the machine license.
NOTE: The processes shown below work best with SSP version 9.x or later. If you are using an older version, we recommend updating to the latest version of SongShow Plus for the best results. If you are not able to do so, additional support may be needed to change bible scripture translations.
If you are changing the Program bible scripture translation because you do not have a certain translation on all of your machines, the best solution is to simply purchase additional translations for the important machine. This will save time of re-editing your Programs after they are moved.
If you do not want to buy other translations, it will be important to use an alternate translation that has the same Book/Chapter/Verse structure. Some translations use different names for certain books. The biggest deviation is with Psalms and Song of Solomon - but there are a few other variations as well.
Users can change the current bible scripture translation to another available bible scripture translation in a program by following the steps below:
- Launch SongShow Plus.
- Open the Program that contains bible scripture translation that you want to change.
- Locate the bible scripture translation that you want to change.
- Right-click on the bible scripture translation that you want to change and from the menu select Scripture Reference > Edit...
- When the Scripture Object editor opens, select the verse you want to change, right-click it and select Edit from the menu.
- Click the Translation Version bar at the top and select the desired bible scripture translation that you want to use.
- verify the selection populates correctly and click Select.
- Note that in the Scripture Object editor the bible scripture translation version abbreviation will have change to what was selected.
- Repeat as needed for additional verses.
- Click Save to save changes and close the Scripture Object editor.
