License Management - How do I update / change the machine license name on my account?

With SongShow Plus, the license file used to unlock your installation has a specific friendly name to make it easy to recognize.  Depending on the methodology that was used when your license was initially created, it may have a name that no longer matches the initial machine/location or no longer makes sense.

Currently, there is no way for the end user to modify the names of the license, however, the support team will gladly assist with this process. If the end user will generate a list of the existing license names along with what they would like them changed to, the support team can make these updates.

To locate the name of the current license file in use on your machine:

  1. Launch SongShow Plus
  2. From the main tool bar select License > Machine Information
  3. Locate the Machine section - this is the friendly name of the current license in use on this machine.
  4. In the case of duplicate friendly names, you should also make note of the Machine ID listed below the friendly name.

To locate the names of all existing license files on your account:

  1. Go to https://www.songshowplus.com/
  2. Using your SSP credentials, sign in to the site.
  3. From the left side, select the Account tab.
  4. Scroll to the Desktop Products section and note that there are both Projection and Workstation sections.
  5. In each section, click the Show Details button to generate a list of all your licenses. 
  6. Once you have this information a list can be created and submitted to support for any changes needed.  FYI - there are no attachments possible so you will need to copy/paste the list in the support request dialog.

To request a change in the name(s) of the license files on your account:

  1. Go to https://www.songshowplus.com/
  2. Using your SSP credentials, sign in to the site.
  3. From the left side, select the Support tab.
  4. Click on the request support link.
  5. Select the "We're a current SongShow Plus customer..." option.
  6. Select the "Submitting a bug report" option.
  7. your account details should auto-populate.
  8. In the Problem field add "Requesting Machine License name updates".
  9. In the Steps to Reproduce field add the list of current names and the name you wish them to be changed to. In the case of duplicate friendly names, you should also make note of the Machine ID listed below the friendly name.
  10. Once the request is received the support team will process and advise when complete.

This should resolve any inconsistency or confusion between the license and the machine.
