SSP Best Practices - Managing Presenter Window (Control) Layouts for SongShow Plus - Layout

In addition to the information noted in other articles, we make the following general recommendations regarding Presenter Window (Control) Layouts in SongShow Plus:

A new feature in SongShow Plus 8.2 was the capability to configure multiple Control Window Layouts. With this feature you could arrange the panels within the Control Window for specific tasks, then recall those layouts at a later time in an instant. 
As an example, you may prefer that when building the program for a service that the media file panels are larger and for the media control panels to be hidden. However, when you're ready to use the machine for presentation, you want the media file panels to be hidden but the media control panels to be visible. Perhaps you will want small preview images in the Program Panel when creating a program, but larger ones when presenting. 
With 8.2, you could have up to three custom layouts. Starting with Version 9.2 there are now 5 layouts available, and they can have custom names. These are accessible through the Layout menu command.

• The first layout in the list is always loaded on SSP startup.
• Use this menu command to switch from one layout to the other.
• When a layout is selected, any changes you make to the layout are automatically saved.
• When you return to that layout, it will look like it did when you left it. 

There are two other controls of note regarding the Presenter layout:

• Default Panel Arrangement - This control allows for an easy reset when arranging the panels goes completely wrong or you want to start over.
• Arrangement Mode - This control makes arranging panels easier by hiding all the panel content when doing the arrangements to prevent bad behavior.

NOTE: Control Window Layouts are user account specific, so each user (assuming you use different user accounts for each user) can have their own layout settings.
