7/16/2024

Applicable SongShow Plus Versions:
This article applies to SongShow Plus 9.2 and Later using SongShow Mobile Control (PWA).

* Updates affecting this feature may be available. Ensure that you are using the most current build of SongShow Plus from the Download page before proceeding. *

NOTE: SongShow Mobile Control (PWA) is now included as part of the Silver Subscription. You must maintain a Silver Subscription or higher to be able to access the Mobile Control (PWA) feature.

The mobile control feature for SongShow Plus has been reworked for version 9.2 and, fundamentally, itโ€™s a significant change. The function of Mobile Control is still the same - controlling a SongShow Plus program from somewhere other than the machine running SongShow Plus. This new method is more flexible than previous versions.

When using the PWA Mobile Control use the following Best Practices for the most consistent results. This information assumes that you have already setup and registered your machines and devices.  If this is not the case, please refer to this article first - Mobile Control (PWA) - A Primer

Launching SongShow Mobile Control (PWA)
To launch the PWA Mobile control, start at the SSP website.  Once you have signed in you can select the Mobile Control page.  Here you will file all of the machines you have registered as well as some general instructions.  Locate and click the link for the machine that you want to control.

Mobile Control Tabs
Once
SongShow Mobile Control (PWA) is open and loaded, the following tabs are available:

Home
The Home tab has a basic description.  This tab has the current Build version timestamp.  This may be important for troubleshooting purposes.

Connection
The Connection tab is where the connected machines are listed.  This shows the status of the machines as well as allowing selection of machines and editing profiles.  It is also possible to add machines on this tab however, it is far easier to do so from the machine itself.

  • Registered Machines - These will show up at the top.  If machines have been registered but are not showing up, ensure that the page is Signed In.  If the credentials did not pass properly the user may need to Sign In.  If multiple machines are registered the user will be able to select the desired one from this list.
  • Unregistered Machines - It is possible to add and unregistered machine, however, it is far easier to register the machine since this is part of the setup to make it visible in the first place.  The user will need to know the Machine Name, Address and Access Token.  Speak to your SongShow Plus administrator for this information.

Program
The Program tab allows the operator to view, control and change settings for the program on the current projection output selected. The program is displayed in a similar fashion to the Program Panel in SSP with the inclusion of background thumbnails.  The user can scroll through to view the contents of the program and can click on any item to display it. The user can also use the remote control bar at the bottom of the tab to control the program from the current step.

  • Settings - the gear icon in the upper right will allow the user to select which enabled projection output is controlled and if the remote control bar is shown at the bottom of the Program tab.
    • Click the gear icon.
    • Find the list of available projection outputs.
    • Click the desired output.
    • Find the "Show remote control" setting.
    • Click on Yes to show it and No to hide it.

Remote
The Remote tab is a "Big Button" remote control for the content being displayed on the selected projection output. The top 3 buttons will Mute (Show No Background OR Text), Clear (Show Background but NO Text) and Restore (Show Background AND Text). The remaining 6 buttons are regular transport controls - Step Back, Step Forward, Rewind, Play, Pause and Stop.

  • Settings - the gear icon in the upper right will allow the user to select which enabled projection output is controlled.
    • Click the gear icon.
    • Find the list of available projection outputs.
    • Click the desired output.

Stage Monitor
The Stage Monitor tab is a "Text Only" representation of the content being displayed on the selected projection output. For Media items (Audio/Video/Image) only the title will be listed.  For Songs, Scripture and Slide Shows only the text components will be shown.

  • Settings - the gear icon in the upper right will allow the user to select which enabled projection output is shown.
    • Click the gear icon.
    • Find the list of available projection outputs.
    • Click the desired output.
