(Don't) keep reminding me of this

One little change that was made with the June 2006 Edition of SSP is that you can now tell SSP to stop telling you about certain tips. You do this by unchecking the “Keep reminding me of this” checkbox next to the tip in the tips window. With SSP V7, the tips mechanism was improved. When SSP lets you know of a tip, it no longer pops up a message box while you are working. Now a little indicator flashes at the bottom of the control window letting you know that a new tip is available. You can then click on the indicator if you’d like to actually look at the tip. With this change, however, tips couldn’t be disabled on an individual basis. As just mentioned, this capability has been added with the latest edition. This is a good thing because SSP will now be notifying you. through tips. when new features are installed and for various other things that may be of interest to you. If you get into the habit of ignoring tips because they are so repetitive, then you will ignore new tips that may be of interest. So, “uncheck” tips that you no longer need, and pay attention when that indicator flashes. It may just tell you something that you’ll be glad you know.(BE70)
