Vista on the vista
So Windows Vista will be here in less than a year. It was recently posted that Microsoft would have eight different Windows configurations ā then the post was retracted. In any case, I do look forward to some of the cool new features of Windows Vista, like Windows Presentation Foundation. Iām concerned about some other features, like DRM (particularly in how it may affect SSP users).
When Vista is released, once again, we will be in the situation where supporting multiple versions of Windows is necessary ā at least for a time. With the release of SSP 5.5 in 2003, SSP has have essentially been a Windows XP Professional only application. This has been nice for both developers and support persons. Sigh ā with Vista, it all changes again. I guess it goes with the business.
