Feature Review: Blink/Scroll
5/24/2010 < Previous Next >
Two new features of the Video Effects Collection provided in the March 2010 Edition of SongShow Plus are Blink and Scroll. These are effects that can be applied to any text, images, and video. The following video demonstrates some tasteful examples of these new features:
Below are screen shots showing the properties available for these features:
The Transition times let you specify blinks that fade in and out rather than simply turn on and off.
A typical use for scroll is to move text in a horizontal direction to the left. However, as shown in the above video, it can also be used to run scrolling credits.

It may be useful to be able to limit the number of blinks; e.g. blink 3 times and then stay on.

THANKS!!!
Now I just gotta figure out the timing of the scroll. Does the scroll effect have a pause setting? I have always wanted to set the sermon notes to scroll up, with the newest item being at the bottom of the screen.
I have tried to do this with different slides, but the words move around too much when they are not bulletized. The minimum tab setting is .1 for a bulleted item. A non-bulleted item is either tabbed or not. This prevents the words from being in the same place as the slides change.

I've had a wish in for a couple years to provide grids/guides for editing slides so that text and other items could be accurately positioned for purposes such as this. Maybe someday!
