Looking Back: An early skeptic turned early advocate!
In the first few months when SSP was being birthed, I had some people ask me how I thought I could compete against the legions of programmers at Microsoft. I didn’t really have an answer other than I just thought that I could. One person at our church, in particular, expressed to me that I was wasting time attempting this project. I’ll keep this person’s name secret for now. However, impressing this person was important to me due to his/her experience in the industry and the influence s/he had. I made it my one of my key goals to ensure that when I demonstrated SSP, that this person was impressed. Well, I’m glad to say that when the demonstration day came, I succeeded at that goal. This person was impressed and became a big fan and supporter. Early successes like this were inspiring and encouraged me to move forward with the SSP project. We later collaborated on the big video system project at our church -- a project I will discuss in a future SSPlog.
