Configuration - Display Window Settings

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

By default, the primary display window will be placed in the secondary display device of a machine, if it has one. If it does not have a secondary display device, the display window will be placed in the primary display device behind the presenter window (use F12 two switch between the two windows). You can make changes to the default settings for the primary display window through the Display Settings Window.

General instructions:

1.From the Presenter Window, select the menu command Settings > Display. This will open the Display Settings window.
2.Click the Display Window 1 tab. This will show the settings for the primary display window.
3.Make the changes you need to place the primary display window where you need it to be.
4.Click OK to save the changes. Some changes you make may require a restart of SongShow Plus.

If your system has more than two display devices, you can specify an alternate display device:

1.From the Presenter Window, select the menu command Settings > Display. This will open the Display Settings window.
2.Click the Display Window 1 tab. This will show the settings for the primary display window.
3.Find the Display Device setting.
4.Select the display device you wish to use for the display window.
5.Click OK to save the changes. The display window should now be located in the new display device.

You can specify that the display window only occupy a portion of a display window. This is useful if you want the display window to occupy something like the upper half, or lower third of a display device, you can do that using the following steps:

1.From the Presenter Window, select the menu command Settings > Display. This will open the Display Settings window.
2.Click the Display Window 1 tab. This will show the settings for the primary display window.
3.Find the Placement Area setting. By default, this is set to Whole.
4.Select the one of the preset areas (Half, Top; Third, Lower; etc.), or Specified.
5.If you selected Specified, you will need to then specify where within the display device you want the display window to be located. Do this using the Specified Area setting. With this setting you can specify the Left, Top, Width, and Height area of the window using percentage values.

Inner and Outer Adjustments

You can make pixel level adjustments to the placement of the display window. This is useful if the projector is not quite lined up with screen. The Outer Adjustment setting adjusts the placement and size of the display window itself. Avoid changing this setting unless necessary. Changes to this can cause the desktop background to show through to a projector. If you need to adjust for the overshoot of a projector, use the Inner Adjustments to reduce the size of the canvas area, which is where all graphics a drawn. Doing this will retain the black area around the canvas which will ensure that the overshoot area of on the screen remains dark.
