Audio does not play in videos in SSP
Applicable SongShow Plus Versions:
This article applies to all version of SongShow Plus
* Updates correcting this issue may be available. Ensure that you are using the most current build of SongShow Plus from the Download page before proceeding. *
Symptom:
Videos will play correctly within SSP, but the audio portion does not play (or is not heard).
Possible Cause:
The system used for SongShow Plus does not have a functioning audio solution.
Possible Solution:
Verify that your system has a functioning audio solution and the drivers are up to date.
Possible Cause:
The SongShow Plus audio settings/controls are set incorrectly.
Possible Solution:
Verify that your SongShow Plus audio settings are set to allow audio playback to be heard:
- Check the Master volume in the Presenter control for mute or low volume set on the slider.
- Check the object volume properties (in program or on object itself) in the Slide Properties settings for mute or low volume set on the slider.
Possible Cause:
The audio in the file does not comply with the supported video combinations.
Possible Solution:
Refer to MI18 for additional details.
The audio in the file was not encoded in stereo. Monaural audio does not currently work during video playback for H.264 files. The root cause of this is not known at this time but is under investigation.
Possible Solution:
As a workaround either obtain or encode your H.264 videos with stereo audio. If you do not create your videos, check with your content provider to get files with the correct encoding.
