Slide Builder User templates - Adding - Error - Stream read error.

Applicable SongShow Plus Versions: 
This article applies to all versions of SongShow Plus Slide Builder.

Symptom:
When trying to add a new slide to "My Templates" by clicking the Add to Templates option, one or more messages are displayed - Stream read error (1698)

Possible Cause: 
The current templates file is corrupted. The UserTemplates file must be valid before content can be added. 

Possible Solution: 
Close all of the error message pop ups and close the Slide Builder windows that are open. 

1. Close the Slide Builder.
2. Navigate to the Public Documents folder for SSP - C:\Users\Public\Documents\R-Technics\SongShow Plus\User
3. Locate the file named UserTemplates.
4. Re-name that file to save for later troubleshooting.

Then add a template:

1. Open Slide Builder
2. Create a slide that has elements you wish to save in any slide show.
3. Once created, right-click on the slide.
4. Select the Add to Templates option at the bottom of the menu.
5. This slide will now be added to the My Templates library.
