SongSelect Online - SongSelect account sign complete but Authorization incomplete

This article applies to all versions of SongShow Plus 9.3 and later using SongSelect Online

  * Updates correcting this issue may be available. Ensure that you are using the most current build of SongShow Plus from the Download page before proceeding. * 

NOTE: This bug was fixed in the 9.3 build dated 09/09/2024.  Update before proceeding. 

Symptom:
When attempting to complete authentication for SongSelect Online within SongShow Plus the user receives a browser message indicating "You have signed in and granted access to SongSelect® by CCLI® through SongShow Plus" however the authorization process did not complete. No error message presented.  

Possible Cause:
It is possible that the system is blocking the required websocket communication that passes the authentication code back to SongShow Plus.

Possible Solution:
Verify your system AV and Firewall software are NOT blocking websocket communications. It is also possible that some 3rd party Ad blockers will prevent websocket communications.  At least temporarily, disable these tools and try again.

Possible Solution:
An alternate solution has been added to allow manual insertion of the code.  This code is now included on the browser page confirming the initial sign in.

  1. Attempt a normal sign in for the SongSelect account.
  2. If this fails to pass the code to SSP, copy the code from the browser page near the bottom of the dialog.
  3. Select and copy ONLY the code that follows the label.
  4. Return to the SongSelect Authorization window in SSP. 
  5. Paste the code and completed the save of the account information.
