SSP Media Indexer - Previously present Media files are now duplicated in SongShow Plus after an update - indexer issue re-index

9/11/2024

Applicable SongShow Plus Versions:
This article applies to SongShow Plus Version 9.3

 * Updates correcting this issue may be available. Ensure that you are using the most current build of SongShow Plus from the Download page before proceeding. *

Symptom:
After updating SongShow Plus, it was discovered that some media files that were present in the previous installation appear to have more than one copy shown after the update.

Possible Cause:
The new indexing process may not be catching newly removed, changed, added or moved content.  This may be more likely after bulk additions/deletions of media or extensive housekeeping operations were folder or files were removed, changed, added or moved.

Possible Cause:
If a cloud backup is used for system files it is possible that SSP will "see" both the cloud link and the actual file, listing the file more than once.

Possible Solution:
Rebuild the SongShow Plus indexes. Refer to this article for additional instructions.

If this persists, the Legacy Indexer could be used. Please contact the support team before proceeding with changes.
This is under investigation.
