A gdiplus.dll or other access violation occurs when presenting a song.

Applicable SongShow Plus Versions: 
This article applies to all SongShow Plus 9.x and later versions.

Symptom:
When using SongShow Plus to present a song,  A gdiplus.dll or other access violation occurs.  This may or may not cause SongShow Plus to stop responding.

Possible Cause: 
This error seems to be related to a large amount of text displayed in a single text box that is too small. This seems to occur in the Title/Author/Copyright sections.  This error may occur when thumbnails or other representations of the projected output are too small for all the text to fit, causing an error.

Possible Solution: 
Turn off the Media Control thumbnails.  Switching to Title Only will eliminate the generation of thumbnails and the error. 

This can be done via the Song Media Control Preferences by displaying a song, right-clicking the Media Control panel and selecting Preferences...

Possible Solution: 

Adjust the size of the Media Control thumbnails.  Making the thumbnails larger will provide additional room for the text and prevent the error.

Possible Solution: 

Adjust the Song Text Style > shrink to fit setting.  Un-checking this option will avoid trying to reduce the text smaller than possible to fit the box and prevent the error. 

This can be done via the Slide Properties > Song Text Style settings. The location may vary depending on how you have Slide Properties set for your songs.

Possible Solution: 

Adjust the Song Text Layout >  Placement settings for the Title/Author/Copyright sections.  Adjusting this option to increase the text box size will allow the text to fit the box and prevent the error. 

This can be done via the Slide Properties > Song Text Layout >  Placement settings. The location may vary depending on how you have Slide Properties set for your songs.

Possible Solution: 

Adjust the  amount of text in the song Title/Author/Copyright fields.  Adjusting this field to reduce the amount of text in the box will allow the text to fit the  text box and prevent the error. 

This can be done by selecting and right-clicking a song then selecting the Edit Song option.  In the general tab, check the amount of text in the song Title/Author/Copyright fields and reduce if possible.

After making one of these adjustments, song display should work as expected.  Contact the Support Team if issues persist.
