Error occurs when searching SSP for files in SongShow Drive
Applicable SongShow Plus Versions:
This article applies to all versions of SongShow Plus 8.4 and Later.
* Updates correcting this issue may be available. Ensure that you are using the most current build of SongShow Plus from the Download page before proceeding. *
Symptom:
When trying to find content on SongShow Drive from the tools in SongShow Plus the user is unable to access files. Depending on which SSP tool is being used the error behavior may change. The errors are:
- "Duplicates not allowed" - This occurs when searching for media files in the media panels.
- "Searching..." - This occurs when searching for Package files from the Restore tool.
This is caused by having copies of files in more than one repository. In many cases, users have tested the SongShow Drive functionality with the free "Shared" repository and then later purchased a subscription for the "Corporate" repository. Both repositories will still be visible and users may leave duplicates in the Shared repository.
Preferred Solution:
Current best practice it to use folders to organize the content in the repositories to prevent errors from happening. As long as the duplicate files are not both in the same folder path the errors will not occur.
Possible Solution:
It is also a best practice it to use the repositories for separate purposes though this by itself will not prevent duplicates from happening. To resolve the error, users can find and delete one copy of the duplicate file.
If this does not resolve the issue, contact the Support Team.
