H.264 (AVC) videos are showing up blank when looping in a slideshow

Symptom:
Sometimes when H.264 videos are set to loop, either in a slideshow or in a program, they will stop playing or show up as a blank slide.

Probable Cause:
While the exact root cause in unknown, this appears to have something to do with the construction of the video since this does not happen on every H.264 video.

Possible Solution: 
Re-rendering or changing the format of the video may resolve this bad behavior.
