Applicable SongShow Plus Versions

This article applies to all versions of SongShow Plus.

Symptom:
When starting SongShow Plus an error message occurs indicating that one or more files are not found.  This may or may not offer to allow the selection of alternate files.  This can be related to songs or bible translations.

Possible Cause:
Something that was added to the Quick Access List has been moved or deleted.

Possible Solution:
Edit the Quick Access List to resolve the missing item

1.  From the SSP Database or Program toolbar select Quick Access List > Edit Quick Access List... .
2.  When this is opening you may get several prompts - read and click Yes/OK to each.  If asked about replacing a missing component, select No for now.
3.  Once the Quick Access List opens for editing in the program window, verify the items you want are present and edit as needed.
4.  From the main SSP toolbar, click File > Save Program and re-start SongShow Plus.

Possible Cause:
Changes have been made to the program that is set to open on SongShow Plus start-up.

Possible Solution:
Stop programs from opening on SongShow Plus start-up

1.  Launch SongShow Plus normally.
2.  Skip all messages related to the error until the program opens in the programs panel.
3.  From the main SSP toolbar, click Tools Preferences...
4.  From the Preferences menu, select Program Panel and  remove the check mark from the "Automatically open the previous Program" option at the top of the list.
5.  Click Save to close the menu and re-start Songshow Plus.

Possible Solution:
Correct/edit program contents to resolve errors

1.  Launch SongShow Plus normally.
2.  Skip all messages related to the error until the program opens in the programs panel.
3.  Edit/repair the program as needed.
4.  From the main SSP toolbar, click File > Save Program and re-start SongShow Plus.

Possible Cause:
A specific bible translation may be missing.  This can be caused if a bible verse that was set in the quick list or opening program has been changed or removed.  The error may indicate "Select Alternate Bible Source".

Possible Solution:
Select a different bible source from one offered in the list.

Possible Solution:
Edit the Quick List and remove the bible reference that is causing the issue.

Possible Cause:
In newer Editions of SongShow Plus (November 2011 and newer) the QuickAccess mechanism was replaced by the Quick List tab in the program panel and this may be caused by a old QuickAccess file remaining behind.  The transitional mechanism creates the new Primary Quick List tab from the old QuickAccess file.

Possible Solution:
Search on the system for a file called QuickAccess.ssprog and delete it.  In the same location you should also find a file called Primary Quick List.ssprog - delete that as well.   You may have to modify your search to look at hidden files.  Once these files are deleted restart SongShow Plus.
