Boot Camp and SongShow Plus
There are a few options for running SongShow Plus in a Mac environment - one of them is Boot Camp.
Boot Camp is a utility included with Apple Inc.'s Mac OS X v10.5 "Leopard" operating system that assists users in installing Microsoft Windows XP or Windows Vista on Intel-based Macintosh computers.
Boot Camp guides users through non-destructive re-partitioning (including resizing of an existing HFS+ partition, if necessary) of their hard disk drive and using the Mac OS X Leopard disc to install Windows drivers. In addition to device drivers for the hardware, the disc includes an applet for the Windows control panel for selecting the boot operating system. An added bonus is that there are several unique Mac features available when you use your Windows applications. Visit the Boot Camp website for more information.
Because this is a dual-boot implementation and the Mac and Windows operating systems do not interact, we expect little if any trouble with the use of SSP in the Boot Camp Windows environment.
We have tested the included version of Boot Camp on a MacBook Pro and it appears to work as expected although exhaustive testing has not been done.
Feel free to post in the forums if you have specific feedback on any testing you may have done with Boot Camp and SSP - good or bad - so we may update this article.
