Recommended DVD Applications for use with SongShow Plus 7
Applicable SongShow Plus Versions:
This article applies to all versions of SongShow Plus 7 using DVD playback.
NOTE: This article had been updated to provide legacy support information for DVD playback with only known good combinations. If not listed here we assume that it will not work as expected.
These DVD applications have undergone a battery of testing with widely available commercial DVD movie titles (encrypted), some unencrypted "homemade" content DVDs as well as unencrypted "Specialty" DVDs such as iWorship. If there are any limitations discovered during testing they may be noted as well.
These are DVD applications that were generally available for sale at the time they were tested. As expected, ongoing availability of a given application version is out of our control.
Please keep in mind that these are fully licensed and registered versions that are tested. Trial versions and OEM "SE" versions *may* work but have been show to be problematic in past testing, and therefore are not recommended.

We have completed testing on the specific versions that have been added to the table above, however other versions in the same family (Gold, Platinum, Plus, etc) *may* work as well. Use the untested versions with caution.
Please refer to Knowledge Base article SSP012 for details on DVD playback in SSP. This includes tips and possible limitations.
NOTE: Testing was done on a clean installation of the test operating system with all critical Windows Updates available at the time, the SSP version noted and the DVD player under test. No other applications were installed.
The function of the SSP DVD import can be disrupted or broken when additional players (QuickTime, RealPlayer, unapproved DVD players) or CODEC packs (XPack, ffdshow, K-Lite) are installed on the system. These may also come with other applications such as disc burning (Nero, Roxio) or video editing (Adobe, Pinnacle) and should be removed if issues occur.
You can find additional information about DVD applications and related issues in various other Knowledge Base articles in the Software and Troubleshooting sections.
