When adding a new song, why do I get a message that the song already exists?

6/6/2007

The native SongShow Plus™ database format requires that each song title have a unique name. If you are entering a song that has the same title as a previously entered song, there is a simple solution to this problem: include the author’s name in parenthesis within the title. For example, "Blessed be the Name of the Lord (Smith)". This will distinguish it from the other song, and has the added benefit of helping you identify the song in a song list.  Note: When you display the song, anything in parenthesis is not shown.

Note that this is not an issue with the SongSelect™ and Worship Software databases, since they do allow multiple songs with the same title.
