The following audio file types are supported in SongShow Plus as stand-alone audio files and specifically for the use as audio tracks that the June 2007 Release enabled.
- .au -- Simple audio format used by Sun UNIX and Java
- .aif -- Audio Interchange File Format
- MIDI (.mid and .midi) - Musical Instrument Digital Interface
- .mp3 -- MPEG-1 Audio Layer 3 (RECOMMENDED)
- .wav -- Waveform Audio Format
- .wma -- Windows Media Audio
- .m4a -- MPEG-4 AAC LC (the H.264 plug-in may still be required to support this on Windows 7)
These formats have varying degrees of popularity and have pros and cons related to size, audio quality and portability. The most common of these seem to be mp3, wav and wma. For more information on these formats you can do a simple Wikipedia or Google search.
