Mobile Control - Network Device settings preventing wireless connection to host machine
Applicable SongShow Plus Versions:
This article applies to all versions of SongShow Plus using any version of Mobile Control.
NOTE: SongShow Mobile Control 1.0 and Mobile Control 2.0 have been replaced with the Mobile Control (PWA).
Symptom:
While setting up or using the SongShow Mobile Control feature to interact with SongShow Plus, the user is unable to connect to the host SongShow Plus system.
Possible Cause:
Incorrect or conflicting network router, modem or wireless access point settings regarding wireless device isolation.
If your network router, modem or wireless access point has any kind of wireless device isolation enabled, you must modify or disable this to allow your wireless devices access to the SongShow Plus system for proper operation of the Mobile Control features. Depending on the manufacturer this feature could be called Wireless Isolation, Client Isolation or AP Isolation - possibly something else similar.
Possible Solution:
You need to either modify settings (if possible) or disable the isolation feature in your router/modem/AP to allow your wireless devices to see the SSP system. Since there are many manufacturers and settings we will offer no specific advise here regarding possible changes to your router.
Consult the documentation for your router/modem/AP or your IT specialist for access to the settings and make changes as needed.
