A slide editing enhancement

2/10/2007  < Previous  Next >
One of the new features of the next edition should be of interest to those who use the slide show and slide show builder features of SSP. When high-end graphics features were introduced to SSP in V5.5, due to the dual technology situation (the one I previously described), the editing window of the slide show builder, as well as all thumbnail previews of slide shows, did not included any high-end graphics features. This was noticed most when you would select motion backgrounds for slides or use soft shadows for text or images. In the edit window, motion backgrounds were not rendered, and shadows always had a hard edge to them. In the next edition of SSP, the slide show builder edit window will render a static rendition of a slide while you are editing it. This means that a static image of a motion background will be rendered, as well as soft shadows, and any other high-end effects you may be using. Likewise, thumbnail images of slides will also render static images of these as well. This will be a welcome enhancement to many.
