Feature Review: Simplified Slide Properties
A preview version of SongShow Plus 10.0 is now available. Additional features and changes will be made along the way during the preview phase. One new feature that is available now and, admittedly, still a work in progress, is simplified slide properties, referred to as Basic Properties mode.
SSP has a rich selection of options for setting slide properties letting you do many things and in creative ways when preparing slides. However, in many cases, what's needed is a single background, some font settings, and perhaps margins adjustments. Slide properties for songs, scriptures, and media now have an optional, simplified set of controls when they are added to programs. The intent is to make it easier for users to select the look they want and then make minor adjustments.
The Basic Properties use a new template format which makes it possible to add a variety templates with one or more layout options. For now, five templates are provided along with various common layouts. At a future time, it will be possible to add and edit templates. For now, only factory-default provided templates are available.
In this first preview, the default behavior is to use the traditional advanced properties, but you can get to the simplified properties by clicking the User Basic Properties button. (In the future, this will likely be the default mode).
The Basic Properties features still a work in progress and you can expect some changes going forward.
