Feature Preview: Slide Show Sub-themes

SongShow Plus 8.0 introduced the capability to have multiple slide property themes within a single slide show. Version 8.5 adds to that feature the capability to now have sub-themes. A sub-theme inherits all of the properties of it's parent theme, but lets you override specific property groups. The primary intent of this feature is to let you select a background and text color to be used by several slides, but then designate different layouts that can be used by those same slides.

So, as an example, set up a a nice image background with a matching text and shadow color for Theme 1. Most of your slides are bullet points and you want those left justified. However, you also have a number of quotations you want to present and, for those, you want the text to be centered. In this case, you can specify left justification in Theme 1, but now add a sub-theme, which will show up as Theme 1.1, and in the sub-theme, set the justification for text to centered. When you add a quotation slide, you simply select Theme 1.1 as its slide theme.

Alternatively, you can set Theme 1.1 to be left justified and then add an additional sub-theme, Theme 1.2, for the centered text.

In either case, if you make a change to the background of Theme 1, this will automatically affect Theme 1.1 and Theme 1.2.

There is no enforced limit to the number of sub-themes you can have. Sub-themes can also have sub-themes (Theme 1.1.1, for example).

This, in itself, is a useful feature. But the motivation for it came as part of the Slide Show Artisan project and was implemented to primarily handle the way it organized slide show building.
