Feature Review: Quick List

12/31/2011  < Previous  Next >
Another new feature in the November 2011 Edition of SongShow Plus is the Quick List. The Quick List is a place where you can put frequent go-to items that you may use during a service. The Quick List is essentially a program that automatically loads when SongShow Plus starts up. You access the Quick List through a new tab located toward the bottom of the Control Window. The tab is captioned Primary Quick List and is adjacent to another new tab captions Primary Program.

To add items to the Quick List, click on the Primary Quick List tab to make it the active program, then proceed just as you would to add items to a typical program. All the things you can do with a program you can do with the Quick List, including the setting of Display Properties for program items. You can even step through a presentation of the Quick List just as you would a program as well.

If you are using secondary display, you will actually have two Quick Lists, one for the Primary Display and one for the Secondary Display.

If you do not use the Quick List, you can hide the Quick List tab to reclaim some screen space. (Do this by right-clicking on the tab then selecting the menu command Settings).

This new feature replaces what used to be called the Quick Access List. Items from your old Quick Access List are automatically imported into the new Primary Quick List. The old Quick Access List used a pull-down menu for presenting items, a separate mechanism for adding items, and a (some what) awkward way of editing the list. The new Quick List feature, being a full-fledged program, provides an increased level of user interface consistency, and additional capabilities that weren't available with the Quick Access List.

Thanks for that Doug. I hadn't worked out what it was for.

Never got into the quick access list, for some reason. But I hope to be using this soon. We don't always have warning when there is a baby dedication or need the church covenant or LORD's prayer. Seems like a good place to keep those.
