Is there a way to place the Preview panel outside of the program. We have a 22" monitor and it woudl be very helpful to see a larger preview screen.

Unfortunately, this is not possible. There is a wish list item to allow users to rearrange the panels to your preferences, but it most not be getting any votes. Either that or it is too hard to accomplish.

What I have done is turn my control monitor in a portrait position. This enables you to make the panels a bit taller, which allow the preview screen to be more useful. This has an added impact on your menus. I don't have to scroll my effects selection because I have such a tall window when it opens.
