Version 8.2 > ssppak/ssbpak file associations

I uninstalled 8.1 and now the file associations for the ssppak and ssbpak are missing and I'm not sure what to point them to. I can't double click on them in file explorer and have them unpack.

As far as I know that has not changed in 8.2 - perhaps the uninstall removed it.
You can re-associate this manually by going to the Set Associations panel.
Do a search for "Set Associations" and select the "Change the file type..." option.
You can associate these files with the Backup Utility located at C:\Program Files (x86)\R-Technics\SongShow Plus 8.2\Bin

With 8.x, we don't set up file associations -- at least not at this point. The problem is when multiple versions of 8.x are installed on a machine, it will be unclear which version of 8.x should execute. Plus installing and uninstalling earlier versions would overwrite the latest settings.

Joel - Did you also un-install Version 7?

I removed v. 7 a long time ago. I just uninstalled 8.1

I tried associating with your backup.exe, but it only brings up the backup utility.

Joel,
After some discussion on this it appears that it is not as simple as just associating the files.
The best way to recover this function would be to re-install Version 8.2 - that should correct the behavior.

OK. I'll give that a shot.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Reinstalling 8.2 did the trick. Thanks!
