When used in HD mode, unfortunately, there are a few more restrictions. In SD mode, SongShow Plus can render frames at 60 frames a second to the DeckLink video card. This is not the case when used in HD mode.

What restricts the frame rate, and how low would one expect it to go? I'd say most people wouldn't be outputting at 60fps using the decklink card (more likely 30 NTSC or 25 PAL), but I could be wrong.

Also, do you always have to be keying on the output or is it possible to display the 'SSP output' by itself with no live video?

The amount time it takes to move 8MB of data from video memory into system memory then into the DeckLink video memory. Our experience was frame rates significantly below 30fps. However, I heard a report from a user testing one of the new DeckLink HD Extreme cards that it appears to perform much better than the previous model.

You can completely obfuscate the live video stream with a full screen slide.
