Feature Reviews > Have a Backup Plan

We backup the SongShow Plus data (plus Fonts and a few other key folders) to a USB hard drive after putting together the SSProg each week. Either that or we do a SSPAK of the program and store it on the network drive.
If the main projection computer crashes hard or "goes missing", the Associate Pastor and I both have laptops with SSP projection licenses that can be pulled into service, either using the backup of the SSP data or the SSPAK.
Failing that, we could print out song sheets (Gotta love CCLI Lyric Service) and duplicate them quickly enough to go ahead and do the service w/o projection.

Well, there are a few advantages to being a small (and somewhat old-fashioned) church: we still have hymn books in the pews, the auditorium is small enough that the pastor can be heard, if necessary, without amplification, and there are enough windows that we can function w/o lighting. Probably the main difference would be that we would have to sing a Capella since our "band" consists of one person playing a Clavinova -- where, oh where, is our old pump organ when we need it!

We have a piano and the pastor could be heard without amplification.
Although we have plenty of stained glass to let light in, I don't think we'd have services w/o electricity, because of the rest rooms and elevator. Some of our senior saints can't do those stairs anymore.

This article has really set me thinking. Will discuss this with the mediatechs VERY soon.
