In the PhotoSlides Assistant, after selecting my images, in the Import External File screen, I uncheck the "Always ask me this question" and then select "Yes".  It continues to ask me that question every time.

My settings in Preferences/Media Files are "Always embed..." and "Always import..."

I was able to replicate this behavior and have submitted it to be resolved.
