Version 9.3 > Long time for SSP to search for images (or videos)
I must be missing something about how SSP search for media. If search for an image
(for a song for example) it will take SSP 20-30 sec. to come up with the image structure, but
it takes Windows explorer less than 3 sec. If I go to "images" in the Media Panel, the search
is nearly instantaneous. I have a numerous files in a rather large folder structure (~2000 files, 200 folders
counting all the sub- and sub-sub-, etc.), but I can't see why that should have any effect on the search
time. Surely, SSP doesn't have to know any more than one directory layer at a time. Even if I wait for SSP
to finally come up with the first search results, it may take just as long the next time I try to "select."
I can open the images directory in any other program (Photo Shop, Paint Shop, etc.) and the results are
essentially instantaneous. So mt question is, "Why are the searches in SSP so slow?
And is there any difference in the final result if using Windows Explorer versus SSP search?
