The activation process is nearly identical to the activation process for version 8.0 with the difference being that during the preview period the version 8.1 activation will be a temporary, full featured license regardless of the current version 8.0 license features.  This was done to allow users to explore all the new features.

The expiration of this full featured period is currently set for July 31, 2014.

Activation of version 8.1 will have no affect on the 8.0 activation.
