I've just posted our "official" answer to the question "Does SSP run on a Mac?" in the KB here. We are interested, however, in researching how SSP runs on these machines through tools like BootCamp, Parallels, etc. In the meantime, please share any of your experiences attempting to run SSP on a Mac. Positive experiences will help us to zoom in on a potential configuration that we may officially support.

I've had no problems running SSP as a workstation on a couple Macs using BootCamp. Both systems are Intel, dual-core, and running Windows XP Pro on the BootCamp side of things. Parallels will let me run it for a bit, but is unstable at best. I am not a fan of Windows at all, and not really thrilled with the overall "curb appeal" of the SSP interface.... but would LOVE a Mac version. Is this even in consideration? Or should I flush these dreams straightaway? (this is probably a disussion for another area)

Just want to give my opinion about SSP and Macs. I operated SSP for five years and recently moved to a new church where we use a Mac OS X system. I am currently running Keynote for announcements and sermon slides and ProPresenter by Renewedvision for songs and video. I love the Mac and its a  lot of fun experimenting with new products. The look and feel of this system is completely different from a Windows system. BUT! I miss the plethora of features that were at my fingertips with SSP! The only thing ProPresenter is good for is throwing lyrics up on the screen. It is nice to be able to have the freedom of picking and choosing any video in the library without presetting anything but there are too many limitations for a veteran SSP user. I am also really getting annoyed with having to switch back and forth between the programs multiple times during a service. Please consider a version of SSP for Mac!!!!! If you want an extremely quick to learn program for beginners or if you just do concerts or events, ProPresenter can't be beat. But, if you like to really kick it up a notch and utilize an almost unlimited amount of possibilities when it comes to worship video stick with a "Cat-Daddy" windows machine and use SSP!

I have a question regarding SSP on a Mac.

VMWare Fusion says it can run DirectX apps and Multiscreen apps.

http://www.vmware.com/products/fusion/features.html#c25447

Does this mean SSP would run successfully on a Mac?

According to their specs, it would appear that functionally it should work. We have not tested this yest (last time we looked, the product only supported DirectX 7, it now appears to support DirectX 9). The main question then is the matter of performance. They have a free trial so no harm giving it a shot. We'll do the same here.

So far, using Boot Camp, my SSP experience on a Mac has been VERY good.

It's not a real world test though, I have a youth concert coming up soon, and will use my MacBook Pro with SSP for it.

I have done some testing on a MacBook Pro and it appears that it has improved from our previous attempt but there are still issues with DirectX.  Please review KB article SW021 for more details.

I'm very interested in getting SSP to run on a Mac, perhaps Crossover would be a alternate solution.

I can't get very far in the installation though due to a OLE error.

In Bootcamp it runs perfectly, as expected, But I'd rather launch from OS X.
I'd be willing to help out in any way I can.

I have tried Crossover as well and did not get very far - I ran into the same issue.

I will probably create a KB article on it as well at some point to indicate progress (or lack of) for this solution as well.

How many Mac users actually use SSP on a Mac in one form or another?
