NOTE: As of 9.3, the Chromex product described below is no longer necessary for indexing images by color. This capability is now built into the SongShow Plus indexer. Chromex can still be used, however, if you need to use the legacy indexing mode.
SongShow Plus 9.2 and earlier:
Chromex is a product, built and provided by R-Technics, that integrates with the Windows Search index mechanism. It provides the Windows Search database with information for image and video files regarding their color content. This is then use by SongShow Plus for the color search tool you can use when finding images and videos.
Chromex is provided along with SongShow Plus Basic Edition and higher. It is available as a separate download from the SongShow Plus download page. Chromex runs in the background. There is no user interface nor control panels. All configuration for Chromex is done at the time of installation. If, after installing Chromex, you need to make changes to its configuration, you can do this by running a re-install from within the Windows Control panel.
