There are two places where you can specify the rotation of an object. The first is the Rotation property in the Position Selection Panel. The second is adding a Rotate Effect in the Effects Selection Panel. There are a couple of differences to be aware of when using and choosing which of these methods to use.
A few things to note about the first method:
• | The rotation is always applied before the effects chain. This means that an object is rotated before any other effects are applied, including the Shadow Effect. |
• | When applied to shapes, the rotation is applied when the object is first rendered. This means that fill of the object is not affected by the rotation. |
• | When applied to text, the text is first rendered then rotated. This means that the fill of the text object will be affected by the rotation. |
A few things to note about the second method:
• | The rotation is always applied after the object has been rendered. For shapes, this means that the rotation will be slightly less precise than when the rotation is applied by the object itself. It also means that the fill of the shape will also be affected by the rotation. |
• | You can include multiple Rotate Effects within the same effects chain. |
