October 2007 Edition change - DirectX 9 Video Cards required for high-end graphics

This article applies to all versions of SongShow Plus.

In the October 2007 Edition, DirectX 9 video cards are now required for the use of high-end graphics features in SongShow Plus.

Previously, certain DirectX 8.1 video cards were supported for some high-end graphics features, however changes in the technology have forced this restriction.

In general, cards from NVIDIA in the 5xxx family or newer should be DirectX 9 compliant and cards from ATI/AMD in the 95xx family or newer should be DirectX 9 compliant.  Please check with the manufacturer websites for details on your card if you are unsure.

Today, DirectX 9 compliant cards can be found at very reasonable prices through many retail and online sources.
