Does SongShow Plus support languages other than English?

The short answer is, sort of.
SongShow Plus is in use worldwide and we are aware that not everyone's default language is English. That said, it is the language of SongShow Plus. We currently have no localization settings or adjustments that can be made and SongShow Plus expects the default US English language and formats.
There are a couple of concerns on this topic:
Non-English Operating Systems
SSP is only tested on English language operating systems with default US settings.
This primarily has to do with the SongShow Plus user interface and some users have reported success with Non-English language operating systems set to use English input but there still may be issues. In particular there are several places in SongShow Plus that use time and date information and it expects it in the default US formats:
- Calendar: Gregorian Calendar
- First day of week: Sunday
- Short Date: mm/dd/yyyy (ie 12/25/2023)
- Long Date: Day, Month dd, yyyy (ie Thursday, December 25,2023)
- Short Time: hh:mm AM (ie 11:45 AM)
- Long Time: hh:mm:ss AM (ie 11:45:31 AM)
In order for all the settings to be set and recognized, it may be necessary to use the settings:
- Country or region - United States
- Regional format - Recommended (English - United States)
Non-English Text (Scripture, Song or Slide shows)
There have been some updates in this area. Please refer to article BE256 for details.
As noted above, SongShow Plus currently has no localization settings or adjustments that can be made. The primary issues users may encounter are related to the importation of non-English text in songs and scripture. SSP is not designed to handle Non-English text internally but may display it as entered in some cases.
Some users have successfully used non-English text in songs and scriptures. The ability to use non-English text is currently not specifically supported nor tested and may change from build to build.
