Applicable SongShow Plus Versions:
This article applies to all versions of SongShow Plus

 * Updates correcting this issue may be available. Ensure that you are using the most current build of SongShow Plus from the Download page before proceeding. *

For SongShow Plus version 8 or later:

If a user wants to replace the SongShow Plus logo at start-up they can do this through the Preferences panel by setting the Opening Screen setting to Image and then select the desired image of their own design.

  • Start by opening SongShow Plus and from the main tool bar.
  • Click Settings > Preferences then select the Opening Screen section.
  • Set it to Image by selecting the Image radio button.
  • Click on Save to close the Preferences window.

For SongShow Plus version 7 or earlier:
If a user wants to replace the SSP logo at start-up they can do this through the Preferences panel by setting the Opening Screen setting to Blank Slide and then setting the Global Display properties setting for Blank Slide to use an image or slide of their own design.

Start by opening SSP and from the main tool bar click Tools > Preferences then select the Opening Screen section.  Set it to Blank Slide by selecting the Blank Slide radio button. Click on Save to close the Preferences window.

Next, from the main SSP toolbar, click Display > Edit Display Properties... to open the Global Display Properties. At the bottom of the Group Properties list select Blank Slide.  From here the user can set the content of the Blank Slide.

You will notice that when you click on the Edit Slides button, it launches SSB and automatically opens the slide show called "Blackout".  This is the slide show that is specifically used for the blank slides option.  You can open a second instance of SSB and copy slides from your other slide shows that you want to use here but only the Blackout slide show can be used for selecting the blank slide.   After you edit the Blackout slide show you will also notice that the drop-down next to the "Use Slide:" option now lists the individual slides in the Blackout slide show for selection.

Keep in mind that whatever the user decides to set here will not only be used for the opening screen, it will also be displayed anytime a user clicks on Display Blank Slide from the SSP Control Panel.

NOTE: In either case, it is not recommended to make any changes to the existing files or file structure as these changes may have unpredictable and undesirable affects on the operation of SongShow Plus.
